I have come from a truly blessed home, loving parents an older brother that picked on me since I can remember, but was all based in love. The day finally came after one of my brother’s extended torments I would call on the force and it answered. I put my brother in the med bay broken arm and 23 stitches later he apologized and we have never been closer. Not intentional but it did little to remove my guilt.

Unfortunately inquiries were made as to his injuries and not twenty four hours later I was found out, tested and invited to the Je Daii Academy. A true honor for certain. Still He pretends to be my protector even after all these years saying “I’ll protect you, you protect the universe”. My biggest fear that I will let my family down. As a result I have worked tirelessly in training my mind and body as with the force you must have balance in all things.

I have spent the last four years in the Temple of Knowledge learning about myself and how this gift is best to serve others. I always had an affinity with computers before my calling. Since my training it’s almost like the stars guide my thoughts every time I plot an Astrogation course or tinker with a broken piece of machinery. With an older brother breaking my stuff as a kid, I had lots of practice with repairs.

I particularly pay tribute to my mentor Tass Wen- drill master and mother all rolled into one person. Her discipline of body and meditation helped me see what around me and what is yet to be. The first vision was the single most terrifying thing I have encountered in my life. She was able to not only set my mind at ease, and help me make sense of it. She concluded with a joke “While the future is uncertain having a glimpse never hurts, especially with lottery ticket in hand.” We laughed so hard I never knew she had a sense of humor, her smile reminded me of my mom… I should give her a holo.

Strenth — Love (9-16)
While fond of my classmates, few of which I call a true friend. Nothing compares to the ties of family. Even my older brother who teased me would fight tooth and nail to protect me.

Weakness — Cruelty (81-88)
While justice is used as an excuse I find that I must temper my actions and not rationalize justice on those that cause suffering in those that are unable to protect themselves.

Free Enterprise (8)
Much like those that dispense justice to protect the weak, governments that crush the will from its people I would provide for their freedoms if their voice is not heard.

I have been aimlessly wandering the town for hours now. My journey to each temple was easier than trying to be accepted as the new guy to the outpost. Walking around the town I stop to find I am drawn to the Hall of Ancestors. The local’s town history and library all rolled into one. There I met Jack another scholar who as luck would have it informed me that my entire outpost has been wiped out. So without any place to go or idea of what is going on he introduced me to his comrades. They all are investigating corruption within the order with Sarrenda either is in charge or the right hand of the governor Marcofv.

We turn in for that night at the local inn and I realize the first night how much trouble this group has been stirring up. We wind up being captured, this would not be the first time with this group I would wake up in a cell. Still not sure what was going on before now even more uncertain as I now have no one I really know or can trust; only the force will let the actions of the new members determine the outcome.

We trudge through miles of terrain on our beasts of burden searching for clues. We spent days fending off Bearsloths, Sarrenda’s minions and ultimately our own fatigue. One party member almost got ate by some swamp monster thing. Another had his hand severed as it was caught in some mechanized trap… the world we live in is a strange place indeed there is so much to still learn.

We tracked our adversary down to a temple with some ancient interface. He gave us trials and puzzles to test our understanding of the force. My physical skills of this world are lacking this I understand and accept. One thing that I can trust on as an ally is the force or so I thought. This gift has guided and protected me on more than one occasion I hope that I will be able to continue to help others in the future.

My concerns are that Dexter for one never gave the now former governor any chance for a trial. The town celebrated his death and held a feast in our honor problem is I don’t feel like this was a victory. He went from judge to jury to executioner in mere seconds and I was not able to see it coming to stop it… I understand that their actions brought the world closer to balance my only apprehension was it the will of the force, or a failure on my part.

Epilogue to Episode 1…
Your surprise at a long lost brother of legend appearing out of nowhere has left you with many questions. The man before you confirms he is Kai, but his memory is missing and he is not sure what happened. He can recall his time as a young child, growing up with his 3 adopted brothers. He remembers venturing out as a Ranger for the first time, and first encountering the Bogan cult. He remembers falling in love with his beautiful Kayla Oort and marrying her. Lastly, he remembers having to venture out one more time with his brothers. Something strange had happened, something they had to deal with. … He shakes his head and is unsure.
He recognizes you as Rangers by your badges, and asks questions. You tell him where he is, what year it is, what technology is like now. You also tell him the circumstances at what you think brought him here. Somehow putting his weapon back together caused him to appear, but you’re not sure why or how.
Everyone boards the military boat, and heads back to the main city of Alara. You all report to the Je’daii temple about what has been happening over the last few months. You talk about the ancient temples you have explored, finding a holocron that belonged to an old Je’daii master, and your chase and capture of Sarenda. You also tell them about the ancient weapon and appearance of Kai, one of the 4 brothers of legend.
The Council is very surprised and excited at Kai’s return. Each of you is awarded the Medal of Exemplary Courage and Service, for retrieving the ancient weapon and bringing Kai back. Kai is taken in by the Council so they can learn his knowledge.
A month passes, all of you returned to your HQ in Alara. It’s been a slow month, not much action, especially compared to what you all had been through. You have had mostly dealings in the city with crime and keeping balance. One evening there is a knock at your door. Kai walks in, and greats you all. He explains that he has been filling in the council on missing parts from the past. He clarified mistakes and helped them to understand what he could remember. Unfortunately, his memory hasn’t fully returned. You ask about the Force Forging used to create his weapon, but sadly that is one of the key memories he doesn’t have at the moment.
Kai tells you that he has decided to travel, see Tython, and hopefully help his memory to return. A few of you volunteer to go, but he tells you it is not necessary and your place is here as Rangers helping those in need and keeping balance. Jahk, offers for Kai to take T.O.M with him. T.O.M. activates before Kai, he mentions that they had a Mechanoid just like this. T.O.M. looks at Kai for a moment, you all hear a buzzing and whirling noise from within T.O.M., the crystal on his chest glows….
“Protocol 4B-K active… Master Kai, it is good to see you! I have been waiting a long time for your return. Master Fyndrik said it would happen.”
Kai mentions something about the Force working in strange ways, the rest of you stand there stunned. You knew T.O.M. was an old Mechanoid, just not that old.
They bid their goodbyes and leave you in your HQ, to be the rangers you swore to be….

Five years have passed…

The trials can only prepare you for so much, the rest you learn as you go. My brother drops me a line now and then and lets me know folks are doing fine. He had heard of my award and lets me know how proud he is of me. I in return let him know about our misadventures, from my more memorable and hilarious beast riding abilities through the jungle to the less pleasant memories of the outright execution of a prisoner. As I trail off he does little to set my mind at ease yet it’s good to hear his voice. I return to the pool in the center of town from to mediate for days at a time seeking the balance between body and mind.

It was a routine day like so many others but one night almost was the end of my training altogether. Our watch was ambushed by an abnormally huge bearsloth. I spent the next week in medical to find that after I was poisoned I managed to close the distance to save another ally by running the creature through with my blade before passing out.

While some say it must have been just a dream, combined with medication and toxins, I however know it was something more. The time I was under I lived an entire life as a bearsloth. Primal, loyal, and purely instinctive and yet somehow not the mindless creatures I always thought them to be. When I awoke had found that my connection to the force had also grown. My gift of foresight I now gift to others. I even experimented with the bearsloth venom to try to duplicate the vision, but with little results. The toxin while not enough to cause harm was enough for me to understand how it travels through the body and how it affects ones system. With a little effort I have been able to become somewhat resilient to its effects.

Of course I continued to work and tinker in my downtime and found deeper connection to all things living and inorganic. It is very taxing, but I have been able to channel the living force into objects for brief periods of time. Different effects using Ashla and Bogun, but I think I have a somewhat better understanding on how T.O.M. came to, but maybe have taken the first steps in forging the force into a weapon.

Upon learning this I trained with my mentor Tass Wen from days at the academy as a youth. With her guidance then and keen discipline of mind she helped me see what is yet to be. Now we train in body to “see the force”. The force has granted me feats of strength now I cover a great distances in the blink of an eye. Our final sparing match was typical she had to upper hand for most of the time, but I managed to catch her off guard and withheld what would be a final blow. With a bow we parted ways and I returned to the city as her last words to me resound “What I need is not here anymore.”

So I will use the force to guide me to where it needs me balancing both the love and cruelty of this world using it’s strength as my own while continuing to protect those without.
